Good morning, friends!
Welcome back to another blog post!
How are you this morning? Like actually, though. Not the typical "I'm okay" or "fine" answer that we typically give out like fun sized candy at Halloween, how are you doing really?
Since starting this journey of changing my mindset in an effort to change my life and build a bigger, better, and brighter future I've noticed how much work that this actually takes. And, funny enough, it takes being mindful to have a better mindset. I've spent at least the past 20 something years in such a rotten and poor mindset that even though I have made leaps and bounds from where I was to where I am, I still notice that some untrue thoughts linger and more often than not, my first thought about someone can be pretty "judgey".
I've accepted that random thoughts are going to come into my head. And I determined that when those thoughts reveal themselves that I am going to acknowledge it and give minimally three positive/good thoughts about whatever that initial judgment/thought was. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will my mind shift. Not only that, but even people whose entire profession revolves around teaching and coaching changing your mindset still have the occasional "what the fuck" thought.
Another task that I am working on for myself is at the end of the day, before bed, I take time and reflect on my day. I think about my actions, some of the thoughts that I've had, and I think about how I can make tomorrow 1% better. How can I show up 1% better than the day before? Like I just mentioned, Rome was not built in a day. It took hours, days, weeks, months, of continuous effort.
For me, I enjoy the challenge of thinking about how I can be better by 1% every day. I wonder how your life would change if you did the same?
Until next time, friends.
